Let’s grow a school rooted in community, nurturing the whole child—every child.
About our school initiative
We’re working to create a nonprofit private school serving families in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico—a rural area with limited educational options.
Our vision is to provide a nurturing, hands-on learning environment that supports the whole child—academically, emotionally, and creatively. The school will begin with Preschool through 6th grade, combining the Montessori approach to independence and exploration with Waldorf’s focus on creativity, nature, and imagination.
Together, these methods help children develop curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning—while strengthening the heart of our community.
Who is the school for?

For all Northern New Mexicans!
For all of us! Many ‘private schools’ must charge a flat rate tuition with limited scholarships available, limiting those able to send their children there. Our goal is to be as inclusive as possible by utilizing grants and other funding to charge on a sliding scale. Northern New Mexico is a special place, and we shouldn’t have to compromise on our children’s education or where we live—we want anyone who is dedicated to their children to be able to have their kids attend, while still paying teachers an enticing salary and paying rent. We want to proactively teach about the cultures of the area (as well as many others) and be an involved member of the community. We believe that we shouldn’t have to send our children to Santa Fe or Los Alamos for an education that fits our child or feel that we must take on the task of homeschooling. We want to build a better future here, in our community.
